Frequently asked questions

What coaches, team managers and families ask us.

Players and coaches

What if a player has a food intolerance?

You tell us on the entry form and the kitchen at El Collell prepares a personalised menu for the whole stay.

Do the coaches run the activities?

No. They are run by qualified instructors from the El Collell activity centre.

Does the coach have to be at every activity?

Not at the daytime ones: the El Collell instructors run them and are responsible for them, though we do recommend the coach stays reachable in case a player would rather sit one out. At the pool and when the afternoon snack is handed out the coach must be there, to keep an eye on intolerances. The night activities are three big ones run by the instructors, and there the coach is responsible for moving their players between them.

How many matches does each team play?

At least five.

Can a player older than the category play in it?

In the boys' categories there are no exceptions. In the girls', a player may play for another team of the same club as long as she is moving up a category, never down and never within the same one.

Do the coaching staff eat the same as the players?

Coaches have a buffet with food better suited to adults.

Is the haunted tunnel compulsory?

Not at all. That same night there is also open-air cinema and the floodlit 3×3 pitches.

Are there individual prizes?

Only one: individual fair play, for what a player does during the competition. Beyond the placings there are the collective ones: best support, collective fair play and best team chant.

Organisation and services

What happens on Friday night?

The haunted tunnel, floodlit 3×3 football and basketball pitches, and open-air cinema.

How do the fundraising raffle books work?

A week after the first payment you receive the books at the address the team's manager gives us: books of 50 tickets at 4 euros each. They cost nothing extra — asking for them does not change the price of the tournament — you do not have to return the stubs or the tickets you do not sell, and if you would rather not sell them you are still in the draw with those numbers.

Does the team manager pay?

The manager costs 130 euros for the whole stay, provided two coaches are already registered. If the team has only one coach and one manager, the manager pays nothing.

How does the coach service work?

If you book it, the coach picks you up at the address you give and, if you need it, brings you back when the tournament ends. It is booked at least a month ahead and needs 40 people: if you do not reach that, we put together several teams making the same journey, or the team can pay for the 40 seats and have the coach to itself.

How much does the coach cost?

Per person and journey (one way): Girona €14, Barcelona €17, Tarragona €26 and Lleida €32. Return services are requested from the organisers at alex@tpesport.com.

Do the coaches pay for the bus?

Yes. The service is outside the organisation, so it is a cost they cover themselves.

Can families stay at El Collell?

Under no circumstances: companions cannot stay at the activity centre, join the activities with the teams, or enter the house. If you want to sleep nearby, write to alex@tpesport.com and we will help you find somewhere in the area.

Is there a bar?

Yes, both at the activity centre and at the football ground. At the ground they make hot and cold sandwiches, and you can buy snacks and drinks.

What time can teams arrive?

From 5.30 pm on Friday, and teams are received right up to dinner time.

Can families eat at El Collell?

On Sunday, once the tournament ends, yes: booked in advance through the El Collell website.
