What coaches, team managers and families ask us.
The level
How is it different from TPE Cup Collell Futbol?
In the level of the competition, not in the weekend. Same organisation, same format and same dates: El Collell runs groups A and B, and this one is C, the friendly level. Teams sleep and eat at the Rocacorba del Sallent activity centre, minutes from the sanctuary.
What does "friendly level" mean?
That the draw is made up of teams that come to play and enjoy themselves rather than to perform. Matches are decided by small margins instead of ending in a rout, which is what happens when a grassroots side meets an academy one.
How do I know whether my team belongs here or at El Collell?
Write to us and we will work it out together: tell us which league you play in and how your season went, and we will tell you which tournament fits. There is no automatic filter and no qualifying.
What if we pick the wrong level?
You can switch while there are places left in the other tournament. Tell us as soon as you see it and we will move you before the groups are drawn.
Are the rules the same?
Yes. Same rules, same match length and the same two-stage format: group stage first, then knockout.
How many matches does each team play?
A minimum of five, the same as at El Collell.
Are there trophies?
Yes. Trophies by final standing, a participation trophy for every team and a medal and a gift for every player. It is a friendly tournament, not a tournament without prizes.
Players and coaches
What if a player has a food intolerance?
You note it on the entry form and the centre's kitchen prepares a personalised menu for the whole stay.
Do the coaches run the activities?
No. They are run by the activity centre's qualified leaders.
Does the coach have to be at every activity?
Not at the daytime ones, because the leaders run them and are responsible for them; even so we recommend the coach stays reachable in case a player would rather skip one. At the pool and when the afternoon snack is handed out the coach must be there, to keep track of intolerances. At the night activities the coach is responsible for moving their players from one to the next.
Can a player older than the category play in it?
No exceptions are allowed in the boys' categories. In the girls' categories a player may play for another team from the same club as long as she is moving up a category, never down and never within the same one.
Do the coaching staff eat the same as the players?
Coaches have a buffet with meals better suited to adults.
Organisation and services
When can teams arrive?
From 17:30 on Friday, and teams are received up to dinner time.
How do the fundraising raffle books work?
A week after the first payment you will receive the books at the address given by the team's contact: books of 50 tickets at 4 euros each. They cost nothing extra — the price of the tournament does not change for asking — you do not have to return the stubs or the unsold tickets, and if you would rather not sell them you are still in the draw with those numbers.
Does the team delegate pay?
The delegate costs 130 euros for the whole stay, provided two coaches are already registered. If the team has only one coach and one delegate, the delegate pays nothing.
How does the coach service work?
If you book it, the coach picks you up at the address you give and, if you need it, brings you back when the tournament ends. It is booked at least a month in advance and needs 40 people: if you fall short we put together several teams making the same journey, or the team can pay for the 40 seats and have the coach to itself. Prices per person and journey are available from the organisation at edu@tpesport.com.
Do the coaches pay for the bus?
Yes. The service is outside the organisation, so it is a cost they cover themselves.
Can families stay at the activity centre?
Under no circumstances: companions cannot stay at the centre, take part in the activities with the teams, or enter the building. If you want to sleep nearby, write to us at edu@tpesport.com and we will help you find accommodation in the area.
Is there a bar?
Yes, at the football ground: hot and cold sandwiches, snacks and drinks.
